The Southern Connecticut State University men's basketball team will host The College of Saint Rose for their final home game of the season on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2020. Southern will honor Taurus Adams II (Milwaukee, Wisc.) as part of their Senior Day celebrations.
 
With Southern's win over University of New Haven on Wednesday, Feb. 19, Southern clinched a spot in the Northeast 10 Conference Tournament for the 10th consecutive season. Southern is currently tied for third place with Pace in the Southwest Division with a 9-8 conference record, but holds the tie-breaker over the Setters by virtue of their 2-0 season record against them. Adelphi sits in second place with a record of 11-6, while Southern is one-up in the loss column to New Haven, who have a record of 9-9. Southern also has the tie-breaker over New Haven based off their season sweep of the Chargers. The top five teams in each division play in the conference tournament, with the top three teams in each division automatically earning a spot in the quarterfinals and the top two teams hosting a quarterfinals game.

All-Time Against Saint Rose: 19-23
The Last Time They Met: 
Southern won against Saint Rose, 78-65, on the road on Dec. 10, 2019. Adams II finished with a double-double, scoring 24 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. C.J. Seaforth (Hamden, Conn.) finished with 18 points, shooting 7-for-11 and knocked down four three-pointers. Richard recorded 17 points and five rebounds.
 
Last Time Out
  • Southern defeated New Haven, 73-67, on Wednesday, Feb. 19.
  • Lyron Bennett (Boston, Mass.) scored a game-high 22 points on 9-of-15 shooting, including 3-of-5 from three-point range, and recorded six rebounds and seven assists.
  • Adams II finished with 19 points, eight rebounds, and two steals.

  • The Owls have made the NE10 Tournament in 10 consecutive seasons dating back to 2010-11, the longest current steak among NE10 programs.

  • Bennett is tied for 10th in assists per game with 3.5, which is first among freshman in the conference.
