The Southern Connecticut State University women's basketball team will host the College of Saint Rose on Saturday, Feb. 22 at Moore Field House. Prior to the start of the game, Southern will honor their three-member senior class: Imani Wheeler, Aaliyah Walker and Paula Tattari.
With the NE10 postseason tournament nearing, the Owls are battling for a spot with American International, who currently have one more conference victory in hand. Southern Connecticut has two games remaining against Saint Rose (Feb. 22) and Adelphi (Feb. 25), both key in divisional play. The Yellow Jackets will face Pace on Feb. 22 and Saint Rose on Feb. 25, both on the road. The tournament takes the top five teams from both the Southwest and Northwest divisions. The Yellow Jackets of AIC currently hold the five-spot in the Southwest, while the Owls sit in sixth, and the Golden Knights sit in seventh.

All-Time Against Saint Rose: 26-11
The Last Time They Met: The Owls are facing the Golden Knights for the second time this season. In their first meeting, the Owls took a 51-38 victory behind a 21-point performance from Jessica Fressle and a 12-rebound performance from Aaliyah Walker.
Last Time Out
- The Owls fell to the Univerisity of New Haven, 61-56 on Feb. 19 at Moore Field House.
- Redshirt junior Jessica Fressle led Southern with 16 points on 4-of-7 shooting from three-point range.
- Redshirt freshman Alexa Kellner had 11 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals.
- Senior Imani Wheeler had 10 points and nine assists as well as two steals in the Owls' loss.
Player Notes
- With 82 steals thus far season, Imani Wheeler is now tied for seventh with Geraldine Artis (1990-91) all-time in single season steals.
- Imani Wheeler has recorded double-digit points in 13-straight games with 10 points against New Haven. The last player to score double-digit points in 12-straight games was Taylor McLaughlin during 2016-2017 season. McLaughlin recorded 13-straight games of double-digit points from Nov. 30, 2016 to Jan. 21, 2017.
- With nine assists against New Haven, Wheeler passed the 100-assist mark for the season and for the second time in her career.
- Fressle's 16 points against New Haven were her fourth-straight game in double figures, while she is averaging 21.3 points per game during the run.
- Alexa Kellner ranks first among freshman in the conference with two three-pointers made per game, and tied for eighth overall. She has recorded 10 double-digit point games and 11 games with at least three three-pointers made. She is also the first Southern freshman to score at least 200 points in a season since 2013-14 (Taylor McLaughlin).

- Imani Wheeler is first in the conference in steals per game (3.2) and in total steals (82).
- Wheeler is also 12th in the conference in total points with 351 with fellow teammate Jessica Fressle is 10th with 364. Fressle is also 12th in points per game with 14.6, while Wheeler is 15th with 13.5.
- Fressle is third in free throws, going 88-for-105 on the season and is seventh in free throw percentage of 83.8.
- Two Owls rank in the top ten in minutes per game as Imani Wheeler averages a conference-high 38.0 minutes per game, while Alexa Kellner is eighth and averages 34.1 minutes.
- Wheeler has seen the most minutes in the conference clocking a total of 987 minutes on the floor this season.
The Owls in NCAA Division II
- Imani Wheeler is sixth in NCAA DII in steals with 82 and seventh in steals per game (3.2). She is the only player in the Northeast 10 to break the top ten in both categories.
Team Notes
- Southern is third in the NE10 in steals per game with an average of 8.7.
- Southern Connecticut is third in the conference in three-pointers made with 208.
- The Owls average the second least number of turnovers per game in the conference and are ranked 28th in NCAA DII women's basketball with 13.2 per game.
- The team is also 38th in the nation in turnover margin with a margin of 4.04 (337-438).

- Paula Tattari registered a career-high 10 points. Her previous career-high of six points was set last game against SNHU on Jan. 14.
- Alexa Kellner recorded a career-high five assists against Saint Michael's. Her previous career-high was four against Dec. 14.
- Alexa Kellner topped a career-high in points with 22 against Franklin Pierce. Her previous career-high was set against Bentley on Jan. 11 when she had 15.
- Five steals are a career-high for Jessica Fressle. Her previous career-high came during the 2018-19 against Le Moyne on Nov. 17, 2018 when she recorded four.
- Imani Wheeler tallied a career-high 26 points against Assumption. Her previous career-high was on Dec. 30, 2018 against Dominican when she had 23 points.
- Jessica Fressle tallied a career-high 28 points against Saint Anselm. Her previous career-high was set earlier this year against New York Tech on Nov. 20, 2019 when she had 24.
- Fressle's two blocks are also a career high. She previous notched one block against Stonehill on Jan. 25.
- Blake Greer tallied a career-high nine boards against Jefferson, a feat she previously set back on Nov. 10, 2019, when she had six against Bloomfield.
- Alexa Kellner's three blocks against Jefferson are a career-high for the redshirt freshman. Her previous career-high was two, set on Nov. 13, 2019 against Queens and has tied that high on two other occasions this season before breaking it against Jefferson.
