How It Happened

- Sophomore Kiley Jackson (Cheshire, Conn.) scored the equalizer 4:47 into the second quarter after dribbling in and around the sliding Franklin Pierce goalkeeper.
- Southern's offense remained hot in the second quarter. Sophomore Brianna Shaw (Branford, Conn.) dribbled around a Ravens defender and dished it to the front of the net, redirecting off the stick of senior Alyssa Haskins (Enfield, Conn.) and dropping in front of freshman Josephine Nolet (Haverhill, Mass.) who buried the go-ahead goal 12:08 into the second quarter to put the Owls on top, 2-1.
- With 12 seconds remaining in the third quarter, junior Kaitlyn Bourque (Enfield, Conn.) dribbled through the Ravens defenders and around the goalkeeper, netting what was the eventual game-winning goal.
- The Ravens pulled their goalkeeper late in the fourth quarter, which proved to be a smart, tactical play as they scored with 1:04 remaining to come within one of SCSU's lead.
