Southern Connecticut women's volleyball will host American International on Friday, Oct. 14 for a Homecoming Weekend match at 7 p.m. at Pelz Gym. The Owls enter the game with an overall mark of 13-10 including a 2-4 record in Northeast 10 play while American International is 18-1 overall and undefeated in conference play at 5-0.

Scouting The Owls
  • Southern looks to bounce back after consecutive losses to New Haven and Adelphi when the first-place Yellow Jackets come to town. The Owls had won three of their previous four matches before falling to the Chargers and Panthers. 
  • The Owls are led by Gabriela Gaibur and Sara Enright, who sit one and two in points, respectively. Gaibur leads the team with 269.5 points after totaling a team-leading 238 kills (3.35 per set) to date. Enright is close behind in her first season with the Owls at 202 kills with a 2.53 per set average. Both players have 21 aces to their ledger. 
  • Payton Reis is enjoying her best season in an Owls uniform, averaging 1.86 kills per set while leading the team with 61 blocks. 
  • Taylor Jones leads the team in assists with 410 for a 7.07 per set average while Lily Miller has also served as the Owls' setter, averaging 6.04 per set.

Friday's game is the first of four-straight home games for the Owls, who also host Pace on Tuesday, Oct. 18, Saint Rose on Tuesday, Oct. 25 and New Haven on Friday, Oct. 28.
