Southern Connecticut men's basketball will travel to Philadelphia, Pa. to take on Holy Family in a non-conference matchup on Saturday, Dec. 17 at 3 p.m. at Campus Center Gymnasium. The Owls enter the weekend with a record of 3-2 in NE10 play and 5-4 overall while Holy Family is 6-5 overall and 0-2 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.

The Owls' Last Time Out
Southern is coming off a 96-72 win against Saint Rose at home on Saturday, Dec. 10. Cherif Diarra (Queens, N.Y.) recorded his first career double-double, finishing with 13 points and 12 rebounds as well as four assists. Marty Silvera (Worcester, Mass.) scored a game-high 20 points with six rebounds, four assists and four steals. Silvera also converted on 4-of-6 from three-point range and 8-of-14 from the floor. Sean James (West Hartford, Conn.) had a game-high eight assists to go-along with 11 points. Ulyen Coleman (Brockton, Mass.) finished with 15 points and four assists while Zack Penn (New Hartford, Conn.) had 11 points, five rebounds and four assists.

Owls Notes

• Southern is coming off an 96-72 win against Saint Rose that saw five Owls finish in double figures.
• It was also the Owls' season-high for points scored. 
• Southern last faced Holy Family in the 2021-22 season where the Owls were defeated in a 62-87 loss at home.
• Ulyen Coleman leads the Owls with 13.3 points per game. He also has 3.7 rebounds, and 2.1 assists averaging on the season.
• Marty Silvera, checks in with 12.6 points per game as well as 5.1 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 2.5 steals per game.
• Cherif Diarra is averaging a team-best 7.4 rebounds, 6.4 points per game, and 1.1 blocks. In the last game against Saint Rose, Diarra picked up 12 rebounds.
• Kazell Stewart is averaging 9.9 points and 4.4 rebounds per game.
• Sean James is averaging 10.2 points and 2.9 assists per game while shooting 40% (10-25) from three-point range through four games.
• Zack Penn records 6.9 points and five rebounds per game. 
• Jahlijah Grant clocks in with five points and two rebounds.
