Southern Connecticut men's basketball will travel to Waltham, Mass. on Saturday, Dec. 3 to take on Bentley in a Northeast 10 Conference matchup at the Dana Center at 3:30 p.m. The Owls enter the game at 3-3 overall and 1-1 in the NE10 while Bentley stands at 5-1 overall and 1-1 in conference play.

The Owls' Last Time Out
Southern is coming off a 59-52 win against Pace on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at James Moore Field House. Sean James (West Hartford, Conn.) led the Owls with 14 points off the bench on the strength of 4-for-6 shooting from three-point range, include three from long range over the final 10 minutes of the game. Kazell Stewart (East Hartford, Conn.) had 13 points, including a thunderous baseline dunk that gave the Owls the lead and sent the Owls' faithful at Moore Field House into a frenzy. Ulyen Coleman (Brockton, Mass.) also had 13 points while Marty Silvera (Worcester, Mass.) totaled 11 points, six rebounds, five assists and four steals.
 
Owls Notes
  • After opening the year with a pair of losses to Post and Bridgeport, Southern has won three of its last four games including back-to-back wins against Molloy, 83-60, and a NE10 win against Pace, 59-52.
  • The Owls enter the weekend averaging 66.5 points per game, while allowing 65.5.
  • Southern leads the NE10 in offensive rebounds per game (10.8) and steals (9.0) and ranks second in blocks (5.0), while its 65.5 points per game allowed is the third-best in the conference.
  • Ulyen Coleman leads the team with 13.8 points per game while also contributing 3.2 rebound per contest.
  • Coleman has reached double figures in all but on game this season and, against Caldwell, became the 32nd player in program history to reach 1,000 career points.
  • Marty Silvera leads the NE10 with 2.5 steals per game while also averaging 5.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists to go along with 11 points per game.
  • Kazell Stewart is averaging 10.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game as well as a block per game. Stewart also ranks second in the NE10 with a 64.3% field goal percentage.
  • Sean James checks in with 9.5 points per game on the strength of 50% (9-18) shooting from three-point range. James' nine three-pointers also lead the Owls.
  • Zack Penn is averaging 7.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game and ranks second in the NE10 with 2.8 offensive rebounds per game.
  • Cherif Diarra leads the NE10 with 3.2 offensive rebounds per game while also averaging 5.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.5 blocks and 1.5 steals per game.

Following its tilt at Bentley, the Owls will travel to Garden City, N.Y. to take on Adelphi on Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m. The Owls will return home on Saturday, Dec. 10 to host Saint Rose at James Moore Field House at 3:30 p.m.
