Southern Connecticut men's basketball will host Mercy College in a non-conference matchup on Thursday, Dec. 29 at 3:30 p.m. at the James Moore Fieldhouse. The Owls enter the game with a record of 3-2 in NE10 play and 7-4 overall while Mercy is 2-9 overall and 1-3 in the East Coast Conference.

The Owls' Last Time Out
Southern is coming off a 78-71 non-conference win against Bloomfield College in Bloomfield, N.J. on Monday, Dec. 19. Marty Silvera (Worcester, Mass.) recorded a team-best and personal-best 21 points in the win. Zack Penn (New Hartford, Conn.) recorded 16 points, all within the second half, to boost the Owls to victory. Kazell Stewart (East Hartford, Conn.) finished with 14 points and nine rebounds, while Ulyen Coleman (Brockton, Mass.) notched 11 points and nine rebounds as well. Cherif Diarra (Queens, N.Y.) recorded eight points and three rebounds. Sean James (West Hartford, Conn.) assisted on three baskets while also scoring four points.

• Southern is coming off an 78-71 win against Bloomfield College in Bloomfield, N.J.
• Marty Silvera scored a personal-best 21 points against Bloomfield. He averages 13.1 points per game, five rebounds, 2.3 steals, and 3.8 assists.
• Ulyen Coleman leads the Owls with 13.3 points and leads the team in 3-pointers averaging 1.6 per game. He also records 4.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists.
• Zack Penn records 7.6 points while averaging 4.6 rebounds.
• Kazell Stewart averages 10.4 points, and 5.1 rebounds.
• Cherif Diarra notches 7.5 points per game on average, along with a team-best 7.6 rebounds.
• Sean James checks in with 9.5 points, 3.2 assists, and 1.5 three-pointers.
