Southern Connecticut women's basketball will host American International College in an NE10 conference matchup at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 31 at James Moore Fieldhouse. The Owls enter the game with a record of 7-3 overall and 2-2 in the NE10 while the Yellow Jackets have a record of 6-5 overall and 2-1 in the NE10 conference play.

The Owls' Last Time Out
Southern is coming off a win in New Haven, Conn. to the University of the District of Columbia, 67-55, on Thursday, Dec. 29. Katie Williamson (Dublin, Ireland) led the team with her third double-double of the season, recording 19 points and 10 rebounds. Isabella Santoro (Durham, Conn.) notched 16 points and nine rebounds. Zoe Amalbert (Nanuet, N.Y.) notched 10 points in the win, going 2-of-5 from the three-point line. 

Scouting The Owls

  • The last time Southern faced AIC was in the 2021-22 season where the Owls fell to the Yellow Jackets, 70-59.
  • Zoe Amalbert leads the Owls with a 12.2 points per game average. Amalbert clocks in with team-bests in assists (5.1) and steals (1.5). She also averages 4.5 rebounds per game.
  • Katie Williamson leads the team in rebounds, averaging 7.4. She records 11.9 points per game, 1.4 assists, and 1.3 blocks. In the last game against the University of the District of Columbia, Williamson led the Owls in points (19) and rebounds (10) for her third double-double of the season.
  • Ashley Evans (Londonderry, N.H.) clocks in with seven points per game and 4.3 rebounds. 
  • Delaney Connors (West Hartford, Conn.) scores an average 10.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 4.1 assists.
  • Isabella Santoro has 9.4 points and 4.4 rebounds. She recorded 16 points in the Owls' last win.
