SCSU Men's Swimming & Diving Defeats Pace, 134-96

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Southern Connecticut men's swimming and diving defeated Pace, 134-96, in a dual meet at Southern's Bruce Hutchinson Natatorium. The Owls won 11 events, before swimming the final two as exhibitions after clinching the win.
 
200 Yard Medley Relay
The 200 Yard Medley Relay team of Chandler Tucker, McAllistar Milne, Henry Velazquez and Franklin Kuhn won with a time of 1:35.23. The "B" team of Christopher Roewer, Kobe Dominguez, Collin Doyle and Dylan Prescher was second at 1:43.26.
 
1,000 Yard Freestyle
Samir Souidi won the 1,000 Free with a time of 10:19.55, while teammate Jack Fry was second at 10:44.49. Souidi's time was the fifth-fastest of the season in the NE10.
 
200 Yard Freestyle
Collin Doyle won the 200 Free with a time of 1:52.20 while Nick Fournier was fourth at 1:53.52.
 
50 Yard Freestyle
McCallistar Milne won the 50 Free by more than a second with a time of 22.26 to defeat Pace's Owen Burtryn's time of 23.32. Southern's Matt Thompson was third at 23.36.
 
200 Yard Individual Medley
Kobe Dominguez won the 200 IM with a time of 2:01.27 followed by Henry Velazquez in second with a time of 2:02.09. Dominguez's time was the seventh-fastest of the season while Velazquez's time was ninth.
 
1 Meter Diving
Mattheus Silva won the 1 Meter Diving event with a score of 258.35 while JT Tressel posted a score of 202.80 for third.
 
200 Yard Butterfly
Connor Skarzynski captured the 200 Fly with a time of 2:09.59 while Dylan Prescher was third with a time of 2:12.08.
 
100 Yard Freestyle
Chandler Tucker won the 100 Free with a time of 47.29 while Jack Fry was second at 49.54. Tucker's time was a season-best and the second-fastest time of the year in the NE10.
 
200 Yard Backstroke
The Owls took the top two spots in the 200 Back as McCallistar Milne finished first at 1:56.45 followed by Kobe Dominguez in second at 1:59.61.
 
500 Yard Freestyle
Despite the race being exhibition, as the Owls had already clinched victory, Franklin Kuhn's time of 4:52.57 would have knocked-off Pace's Austin Hyer who's time of 5:16.24 was the next fastest. Matt Thompson swam a 5:09.38 followed by Christopher Roewer's 5:14.94. Kuhn's time was the third-fastest of the year in the NE10.
 
3 Meter Diving
Matheus Silva also won the 3 Meter Diving event with a score of 234.30.
 
200 Yard Breaststroke
Chandler Tucker posted a time of 2:11.45, more than four seconds faster than Pace's Chaz Johnson. Tucker's time ranks as the fourth-fastest of the season in the NE10.
 
400 Yard Freestyle Relay
The "A" relay team of Franklin Kuhn, Jack Fry, Henry Velazquez and Dylan Prescher posted a time of 3:16.93.
 
Southern will break for the holidays and return to action on Friday, Jan. 13 when it hosts Adelphi at 4 p.m. at Hutchinson Natatorium.
