NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Bayleigh Takacs (Sparta, N.J.) of the Southern Connecticut State University lacrosse team recorded her 100th career point in the Owls' 20-7 loss to No. 10 nationally ranked Le Moyne on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at Jess Dow Field. Southern is now 4-11 on the season and 3-9 in the NE10, while the Dolphins are 11-4 overall and 9-3 in the NE10.
Takacs became the 10th player in program history to record 100 career points, and had two goals and two assists in the game.
Karlie Rowe (Niantic, Conn.), who also recorded her 100th career point earlier this season, scored three goals, while
Mia Pulisciano (Cheshire, Conn.) and
Savannah Feinberg (Sound Beach, N.Y.) added one goal each.
Brianna Shaw (Branford, Conn.) and
Morgan Reilly (Stratford, Conn.) had one assist apiece. Robbins scooped up four ground balls. Shaw also had five caused turnovers, and set a new SCSU single-season program record for caused turnovers in a season with 36.
How It Happened
First Quarter
- Le Moyne scored the first three goals of the game to take the lead, but Southern scored two of the final three goals in the opening quarter to cut into the lead.
- Takacs got on the scoreboard first for the Owls with just under three minutes remaining. Rowe then scored with 1:54 left to make the score 4-2.
- Takacs' 100th career point came on the assist on Rowe's goal.
Second Quarter
- Le Moyne scored the first three goals of the second quarter, but Southern was able to rally midway through to cut the lead back to down two.
- Feinberg scored at the 7:05 mark to begin the Owls' run, and Rowe scored on an assist from Reilly with 5:48 left.
- Pulisciano capped off the run with a goal at the 4:10 mark, with Takacs recording her second assist of the half.
- Le Moyne ended the half but scoring three straight goals of their own and took a 10-5 lead.
Third Quarter
- The Dolphins scored all four goals in the third quarter.
Fourth Quarter
- Rowe and Takacs both scored in the fourth quarter to break up the run by Le Moyne.
- Rowe's goal was assisted by Shaw at the 9:17 mark, while Takacs scored with 3:30 remaining.

- Takacs became the 10th player in program history to record 100 points. She joined Nicole Healey (213), Samantha Cozzolino (196), Carolynn Keal (161), Allison Kownacki (130), Sarah Muise (119), Rowe (112), Teresa Monfredo (107), Kennedy Sherman (105), and Elaina Heiple (104).
- Takacs has recorded at least one point in 30 consecutive games dating back to April 13, 2019, and is the only Southern player to score a goal in every game this season.
- Takacs now has 39 career assists, fourth most in program history. She is two away from tying Healey for third most at 41.
- Rowe is now up to 112 career points after her and 93 goals after three-goal performance. Her 93 goals rank seventh all-time.
- Rowe has scored at least three goals in back-to-back games and for the ninth time this season.
- Takacs now has 13 assists this season, the tied for the sixth most in a season in program history, while Rowe has 12 assists, tied for the 10th most.
- Shaw set a career-high in caused turnovers with five. It is the fourth time in the last five games she has had at least four caused turnovers and the fifth total time this season. She now has the single-season caused turnover program of 36, one ahead of Keal's 35 she set in 2017.
- With her assist today, Shaw now has at least one point in every game this season.
- Robbins set a new career-high with four ground balls. Robbins also has 27 caused turnovers for the season, tied for the fourth most in program history for a single-season.
- Reilly now has an assist in back-to-back games, the first two assists of her career.
- With the conclusion of the home portion of Southern's schedule, the finish the season at 4-3 at Jess Dow Field, their best season ever on their home turf.
