MANSFIELD MASS. - Zico Groenveld (Aalsmeer, Netherlands), a Southern Connecticut first-year student was named the Northeast 10 Rookie of the Week, as announced by the NE10 on Monday, Aug. 29th, 2022.

Groenveld kicked off his SCSU career with a goal in both of the Owls' games this weekend. Groenveld scored the Owls' first goal of the season in a 2-0 win at Dominican, which stood as the game-winner, before scoring the game-tying goal off a penalty kick in a 1-1 draw at Bridgeport.

The Owls return to Jess Dow Field to face off in a non-conference matchup against Mercy College this Saturday, September 3rd at 2:00pm.
