Southern Connecticut women's soccer returns to action on Wednesday, Aug. 31 when it travels to Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. to take on Mercy in a non-conference matchup at 3 p.m.

THE OWLS' LAST TIME OUT
Southern Connecticut split its opening weekend slate, falling to Bridgeport, 2-0, before defeating Staten Island, 2-0. In the latter, the Owls received goals from Amanda Dustin and Kelsey Burr, while Abby Allen made three saves for her first shutout of the season. 

ABBY ALLEN NAMED NE10 GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK
Abby Allen recorded a NE10-leading 15 saves on the weekend, allowing two goals in 180 minutes for a 1.00 goals-against-average and a .882 save percentage, which also led all NE10 goals that played a minimum of 180 minutes for the weekend. Allen stopped 13-of-15 shots against Bridgeport and then stifled the only two shots-on-goal from Staten Island for her first shutout of the season. It is the first NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week award for her career.

Following its tilt at Mercy, the Owls return home on Sunday, Sept. 4 to host Post University at 1 p.m. at Jess Dow Field.
