SCSU Men's Soccer Falls To Queens

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Southern Connecticut men's soccer lost to Queens, 3-0, in a non-conference matchup at Jess Dow Field in New Haven, Conn. With the loss, the Owls' first of the season, Southern drops to 3-1-2 on the year while the Knights improve to 5-2-0. 

Queens took an early lead when Adolpho Martinez Paquet scored less than five minutes into the game. Queens pushed its lead to 2-0 in the 42nd minute on a goal by Bryce Cherry. Thomas Esperoe scored midway through the second half to seal the win for Queens. 

In goal, Devin Juan (Meriden, Conn.) had five saves on eight shots-on-goal for the Owls. 

Southern returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 17 when it hosts Saint Anselm for a Northeast 10 Conference matchup at Jess Dow Field at 2 p.m.
