Southern Connecticut men's soccer will host Mercy for its home opener on Saturday, Sept. 3 at 1 p.m. at Jess Dow Field in New Haven, Conn. Both teams enter the weekend matchup undefeated, with the Owls standing at 1-0-1 while Mercy is 2-0-1 through its first three games.

ZICO GROENVELD NAMED NE10 ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Zico Groenveld (Aalsmeer, Netherlands) was named the Northeast 10 Rookie of the Week, as announced by the NE10 on Monday, Aug. 29th, 2022. Groenveld kicked off his SCSU career with a goal in both of the Owls' games this weekend. Groenveld scored the Owls' first goal of the season in a 2-0 win at Dominican, which stood as the game-winner, before scoring the game-tying goal off a penalty kick in a 1-1 draw at Bridgeport
