Southern Connecticut women's basketball will travel to West Haven, Conn. to take on University of New Haven on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. at Charger Gymnasium. The Owls enter the game with an overall record of 10-4 including a 5-3 mark in Northeast 10 Conference play while UNH is currently 6-7 overall and 3-6 in the NE10.

  • Southern enters the weekend on the heels of a 67-48 NE10 win against Saint Michael's on Tuesday, Jan. 10 at Moore Field House.
  • Isabella Santoro (Durham, Conn.) led the Owls with her second double-double of the season after totaling 15 points and 12 rebounds.
  • Zoe Amalbert (Nanuet, N.Y.) finished with 19 points and five assists while Katie Williamson (Dublin, Ireland) had 12 points, three assists and two steals. 
  • Delaney Connors (West Hartford, Conn.) had 10 points and five assists.
  • Southern shot 49.1% from the floor, converting on 26-of-53 from the field including 8-of-13 (61.5%) from three-point range.
  • Amalbert knocked down all three three-pointers she took on the afternoon while Santoro was 3-for-4 from long range and 6-for-7 from the floor.
  • The Owls' hot touch from the floor gave them their second-best shooting game of the season, and their best against a NE10 opponent. From long range, it was the second time the Owls' knocked down eight three-pointers in a game – following a nine three-pointer performance at Adelphi on Dec. 6.
  • The Owls' 61.5% from three-point range was its best single-game percentage since Nov. 11, 2013 when they shot 63.6% against Concordia.

  • The Owls have won four of their last five and seven of their last 10 games.
  • Kate Lynch enters Saturday's matchup against the Chargers with 99 career wins as the Owls' head coach.
  • Allowing just 53.7 points per game, the Owls rank seventh nationally in scoring defense. Additionally, the Owls have held opponents to a 34.1 shooting percentage, good for 10th-best nationally.
  • The Owls' 15.8 assists per game leads the NE10 and ranks 36th nationally.
  • Amalbert leads Southern in points (13.6), assists (4.9) and steals (1.6) per game while also ranking second with 4.4 rebounds per game.
  • Amalbert's 4.9 assists per game and 69 total assists rank first in the NE10, while her assists per game ranks 22nd nationally.
  • In her last five games, Amalbert is averaging 15.6 points, 5.0 assists and 6.0 rebounds per game while shooting 50% (13-25) from three-point range.
  • Katie Williamson is averaging 11.7 points and a team-leading 7.3 rebounds per game as well as 1.1 blocks.
  • Williamson is also shooting a team-best 48.7% from the floor, which ranks second in the NE10.  
  • Isabella Santoro checks in with 10 points and 5.5 rebounds per game while shooting a team-high 44.8% from three-point range.
  • Santoro is enjoying her best run of the season over the Owls' last five games as she's averaging 12.2 points and 8.0 rebounds per game as well as two steals. Santoro has also converted on 6-of-11 from three-point range.
  • Delaney Connors is averaging 9.5 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game while sitting second behind Amalbert with 32.9 minutes per game.
