Southern Connecticut women's basketball will host Bentley for a Northeast 10 Conference matchup on Saturday, Jan. 28 at James Moore Field House at 1:30 p.m. Southern is coming off a win at Southern New Hampshire earlier this week and stand at 11-7 overall and 6-6 in the NE10, while Bentley comes to New Haven with a record of 12-7 overall and 9-4 in conference play.

Their Last Time Out
  • Southern ended a three-game slide with a 62-58 win on the road at Southern New Hampshire on Tuesday, Jan. 24.
  • Delaney Haines (Portland, Me.) came off the bench to scored a team-high, and career-high, 17 points, while converting on 5-of-6 from three-point range. 
  • Isabella Santoro (Durham, Conn.) had 11 points while Delaney Connors (West Hartford, Conn.) turned in a 10-point, five-rebound night, with three assists.
  • The win also stood as Owls' head coach Kate Lynch's 100th career win as Southern's head coach. 
Rematch
Southern and Bentley met earlier this season, with the Falcons taking a 65-55 decision on their home court on Dec. 3, 2022. Delaney Connors (West Hartford, Conn.) and Katie Williamson (Dublin, Ireland) both led the Owls with 11 points each. Connors also totaled five rebounds and four assists while Williamson had a pair of blocks. Isabella Santoro (Durham, Conn.) finished with nine points and six rebounds while Zoe Amalbert (Nanuet, N.Y.) had six points, seven rebounds and two steals.
 
Owls Notes
  • Zoe Amalbert leads the Owls with 13.5 points per game with 4.9 assists and 4.4 rebounds per game, as well as 1.4 steals.
  • Amalbert's 4.9 assists per game and 89 total assists lead the NE10 and rank among the NCAA Division II leaders.
  • Katie Williamson is enjoying a break-out season with 11.2 points and 7.2 rebounds per game while shooting 45.4% from the floor, good for third in the NE10.
  • Williamson also leads the team with 18 blocks for the year.
  • Isabella Santoro averages 10.7 points per game with 5.3 rebounds while shooting a team-leading 46.9% (69-147).
  • Delaney Connors averages 9.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game while her 2.1 assists-to-turnover ration is the second-best in the NE10. 
Scouting The Bentley Falcons
  • Maggie Whitmore leads the Falcons with 12 points and 6.8 rebounds per game, as well as a team-high 2.5 assists.  
  • Ella Thompson checks in with 9.8 points and 4.6 rebounds per contest.
  • Kari Brekke averages 9.5 points and leads the team in three-pointers (38) and three-point shooting percentage (42.7%, 38-89).
