Southern is coming off a 77-63 NE10 Conference win against American International in New Haven, Conn. on Saturday, Dec. 31. Sean James (West Hartford, Conn.) had a career-best 28 points in the win over AIC. These are the most points scored by a Southern player since Isaiah Boissard had 31 against Pace on Feb. 11, 2020. James also scored the most three-pointers, going 8-of-14, since Ulyen Coleman converted 9 against New Haven on Jan. 31, 2018. Zack Penn (New Hartford, Conn.) scored 16 points and had 17 rebounds for his second double-double of the season and fourth in his career. He recorded a career-high in rebounds with 17, the most since Taurus Adams II had against Saint Rose on Feb. 22, 2020 with 19. Ulyen Coleman (Brockton, Mass.) notched 16 points going 7-of-13 from the field with two three-pointers, while also grabbing three rebounds. Marty Silvera (Worcester, Mass.) recorded a season-high 12 assists— the most assists in a game since Lyron Bennett had 12 on Dec. 7, 2021 against Saint Rose and is the fourth most in a game in program history.
