RINDGE, N.H. - Southern Connecticut State volleyball was defeated 3-0, by Franklin Pierce University on Friday night in a NE10 matchup. Franklin Pierce improved to an overall record of 6-6 with a NE10 record of 1-3. Southern dropped to an overall record of 11-10 with a NE10 record of 1-3.
The Ravens took the first set closely over the Owls with a 25-23 scoreline. In the second set, Franklin Pierce won with a scoreline of 25-14 over Southern. Then, the Ravens got the victory with a third set score of 25-20.
Three first-year Owls led the team in kills as
Carissa Michel,
Ahunna James and
Kendall Webber all had six kills each. Fellow first-year
Victoria Pascual had a career-best of four kills against Franklin Pierce.
Ahunna James led the team with 12 digs while
Aubrey Villena followed closely behind with eight digs of her own. Setter
Lily Miller had a team-best of 18 assists and
Aubrey Villena led the team in service aces with two.
Sarah Stark and
Kendall Webber both had a solo block and a block assist against the Ravens.
The Owls return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 17 at Pelz Gym at 5:00 p.m. for an NE10 matchup against Adelphi University.
