SCSU Men's Cross Country Wins Second-Straight NE10 Championship
WESTFIELD, Mass. - The Southern Connecticut State University men's cross country team clinched first place at the Northeast-10 Conference Championships on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2023 at Stanley Park, hosted by American International College. Southern had seven runners finish in the top 20 and five runners finish in the top 15.

This is Southern's third time placing first in the Northeast-10 Conference Championships. The Owls defended their title that they won at the 2022 NE10 Championships. In addition, the Southern Connecticut women's cross country team clinched first place for the first time in program history. Southern Connecticut is the third school since 2000 to have both the men's and women's teams capture the NE10 title in the same season. Jonathan Volpe (Naugatuck, Conn.) finished second overall with a time of 25.11.8.

  • Luca Cazzaniga (Bethel, Conn.) finished in 17th place with a time of 26:17.00.
  • Ryan Gagne (Wethersfield, Conn.) finished in 35th place with a time of 27:06.70.
  • Nathanael Huebner (Milford, Conn.) finished in 40th place with a time of 27:12.20.
  • Matt Speight (Plainfield, Conn.) finished in 43rd place with a time of 27:16.80.
  • Shea Kenney (Groton, Conn.) finished in 54th place with a time of 27:33.10. 
  • Dylan Horkey (Uncasville, Conn.) finished in 62nd place with a time of 27:55.80.
  • Alex Cole (Watertown, Conn.) finished in 89th place with a time of 28:57.80.
  • Dominic Tartarelli (Bristol, Conn.) finished in 109th place with a time of 32:06.60.
