SCSU Men's Swimming & Diving Competes At Fairfield Invitational

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Southern Connecticut men's swimming & diving competed at the Fairfield Invitational. First-year Lucas Quiroga led the Owls in two events, finishing second in the 200 Fly and fourth in the 400 Free while Kobe Dominguez led Southern in the 100 Breaststroke and the 100 Fly.

800 Meter Freestyle
Dylan Prescher opened the day with a second-place finish in the 800 Free with a time of 9:00.13 while Samir Souidi was fourth at 9:20.82.

200 Meter Freestyle
Jack Fry led the Owls with a fourth-place finish in the 200 Free with a time of 2:02.81. Drew Ladner was fifth at 2:03.29, followed by Jacob Tanner (2:07.97) and J.D. Starkey (2:08.11)

100 Meter Backstroke
Franklin Kuhn led the Owls in the 100 Back with a time of 1:05.04, followed by Kris Janney (1:06.73), Travis Scott (1:06.97) and Connor Skarzynski (1:09.47).

100 Meter Breaststroke
Kobe Dominguez led Southern in the 100 Breast with a time of 1:08.12 for third place while Zach Krantz finished fifth at 1:14.65.

200 Meter Butterfly
Lucas Quiroga posted a second-place finish in the 200 Fly with a time of 2:15.57.

50 Meter Freestyle
Drew Ladner posted a time of 25.05 in the 50 Free for third place while Adam Fred placed fifth at 25.5 and Aiden Kennedy was sixth at 26.00.

100 Meter Freestyle
Aiden Kennedy finished fifth in the 100 Free with a time of 56.53, ahead of Dylan Prescher (57.49) and Kobe Dominguez (58.12). Travis Scott finished eighth at 58.13.

400 Meter Freestyle
Lucas Quiroga led the Owls in the 400 Free with a time of 4:24.34 for fourth place while Michael Aiello was fifth at 4:42.34.

100 Meter Butterfly
Kobe Dominguez finished third in the 100 Fly with a time of 1:01.70 while Jacob Tanner was sixth at 1:02.96. Jack Fry (1:03.61) and Franklin Kuhn (1:03.80) rounded out the Owls' scorers in the event.

200 Meter Individual Medley
Kris Janney finished third in the 200 IM with a time of 2:21.31 followed by J.D. Starkey in fifth at 2:23.22 and Nick Fournier in sixth at 2:35.57.

Southern is back in action on Thursday, Oct. 12 when it travels to Storrs, Conn. to take on UConn.
