Southern Connecticut women's gymnastics will compete in the annual Tonry Invitational hosted by Yale University and featuring Bridgeport on Sunday, Feb. 12 at John J. Lee Ampitheater in New Haven, Conn. The Tonry Invitational will be available live on ESPN+ at 1 p.m.
 
OWLS NOTES
  • Southern heads into Sunday's Tonry Invitational after posting season-high scores in back-to-back meets last weekend.
  • On Friday, Feb. 3 at the Rutgers Quad Meet, Southern posted a season-best 190.700, with new highs in the Floor, Vault and Beam events.
  • On Sunday, Feb. 5, the Owls scored a 192.500 at Brown, with new highs on the Beam and Bars.
  • At Rutgers, Hanna Zebdi led the Owls with the Owls' two highest scores in the meet after posting a 9.750 on the Floor and a 9.775 on the Vault. 
  • Libby Allen, the team's leading scorer this season, hit on all three of her events, scoring on the Vault, Floor and Beam.
  • At Brown, Angel Lee (Chino Hills, Calif.) posted a 9.850 on the Beam, which is the best score for any Southern student-athlete in any event this season, while also winning the event against Brown. 
  • Lexi Bracher (Oakton, Va.) also set the Owls' new season-best on the Vault with a 9.775 while Abby Royer (Boyertown, Pa.) and Zebdi each posted 9.7's or higher in two event, each.
  • For the year, Zebdi has a team-leading 9.65 average on the Vault, and a 9.692 average on the Floor, good for second on the Owls' roster.
  • Bracher is close behind Zebdi on the Beam at 9.633, followed by Elena Bailey (9.508) and Libby Allen (9.506).
  • On the Bars, Ciana Rios is averaging a team-best 9.596, followed by former All-American Hannah Stahlbrodt at 9.583.
  • Sara Moussa also checks in with a 9.550 average in the event.
  • Lee carries a team-high 9.696 average on the Beam, while Emelia Diaz is averaging 9.487 with Emiley Kahl in third at 9.383.
  • On the Floor, Abby Royer averages a team-best 9.730, followed by Zebdi, and Libby Allen (9.637). Ava Boyd and Ava Kelly both average a 9.550 on the Floor.

Southern is back in action on Friday, Feb. 17 when it travels to College Park, Md. to take on University of Maryland at 7 p.m.
