SCSU Softball Loses To Indianapolis

LEESBURG, Fla. - Southern Connecticut softball lost to University of Indianapolis, 10-0, in a game played at The Spring Games in Leesburg, Fla. With the loss, the Owls dropped to 3-7 on the year while Indianapolis improved to 22-3. 

The Owls will return from their trip with eyes on their home opener against Post on Wednesday, Mar. 22 at Pelz Field. Through the Owls first 10 games, Jacqueline Dumont (Nashua, N.H.) is currently hitting .563 (18-32) while leading the team in most offensive categories. Dumont totaled three doubles and a home run while driving in 12 runs and scoring seven more. 

Katrina Roy (Bristol, Conn.) is currently hitting .452 (14-31) with six runs scored and six RBI while Gabby Festa (Patchogue, N.Y.) checks in at .391 (9-23) with six RBI. Ally Petrella (Wilton, Conn.) leads Southern with eight runs scored while hitting .333 (8-24) while Emily Lange (Enfield, Conn.) has seven run scored and a team-high five walks. 

On the mound, Jessica Perucki (West Milford, N.J.) is 2-3 with a 2.03 ERA with a team-high 32 strikeouts in 31 innings pitched.
