SCSU Softball Falls To Saint Anselm, 3-0 and 2-0

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Southern Connecticut State University softball lost a pair of Northeast 10 Conference games at Saint Anselm as the Hawks won the first game, 3-0, before closing out the afternoon with a 2-0 win. Southern dropped to 13-27 overall and 7-15 in NE10 play while Saint Anselm improved to 24-13-1 overall and 14-7-1 in conference.

Emily Lange and Faith Barbieri provided the Owls only two hits in the first game, while Ashley Saab also worked a walk to get on base. In the second game, it was Paige Delier and Ally Petrella with a hit, each.

Emma Gorham pitched in both games. In the first game, she went six complete innings, allowing three runs on 10 hits. In the second game, she pitched the final 2/3, retiring the only batter she faced after inducing an inning-ending double play. Ashely Lewis got the start in the second game and held Saint Anselm to two runs on 12 hits while striking out four over 5 1/3.

Southern's wraps up the 2023 season on Friday, Sept. 28 when it takes on Southern New Hampshire on the road in a NE10 doubleheader set for a 2 p.m. start in Manchester, N.H.
