SCSU Softball Swept By Le Moyne

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Southern Connecticut softball dropped a Northeast 10 Conference doubleheader at Le Moyne, losing 2-1 and 10-2, in Syracuse, N.Y. With the two losses, Southern fell to 9-15 overall and 5-7 in the NE10. Le Moyne improved to 16-15 overall and 5-5 in conference play.

SCSU Softball Highlights vs. Le Moyne (Apr. 8, 2023)

Jacqueline Dumont blasted a two-run homer in the fourth inning of the first game and plated the Owls only run. Emily Lange was 3-for-6 with one of the Owls' two hits in the first game before posting a two-hit outing in the nightcap. Gabby Festa drove in two runs in the second.

Jessica Perucki went the distance again for Southern Connecticut in Game 1, striking out eight while giving up six hits over six innings as well as two runs. In the second game, Emma Gorham gave up three runs on three hits over three innings before she was relieved by Ashley Lewis.

Southern is back in action on Tuesday, Apr. 11 when it travels to Pleasantville, N.Y. to take Pace in a doubleheader and then takes on University of New Haven in West Haven, Conn. on Saturday, Apr. 15. The Owls return home on Tuesday, Apr. 18 to host Adelphi at Pelz Field.
