Olivia Strelevitz Named Finalist For NE10 Woman and Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Southern Connecticut women's swimming & diving standout Olivia Strelevitz has been named as one of the three finalists for the prestigious Northeast-10 Conference Woman of the Year Award and the NE10 Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Student-athletes are eligible for the Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year award when they are in their final year of athletic eligibility, graduating with a degree in May (unless in a master's program), must be enrolled in a full-time course load and must have a minimum final cumulative grade point average of 3.30. A committee made up of faculty members and athletic administrators conducts voting for the awards. The NE10 Man and Woman of the Year awards honor student-athletes for their excellence in competition, in the classroom and in the community. The Woman of the Year award winner will be forwarded to the NCAA for their National Woman of the Year award, serving as the NE10's nomination.

Strelevitz has been a two-year captain for the SCSU women's swimming & diving program, which has won the NE10 Championship in each of the past three years. She is a two-time selection to the NE10 Academic All-Conference team and was named the NE10 Sport Excellence Award winner for women's swimming & diving this past season. Strelevitz is a four-year member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) on campus and served as vice president in her senior year. She is also a top-three finalist for the NE10 Woman of the Year award.

Strelevitz was previously named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, the NE10 Women's Swimming & Diving Academic All-Conference Team and was also the Sports Excellence winner. Strelevitz was also selected to the NE10 Academic All-Conference team after being honored last season. She is currently majoring in secondary education with a concentration in English with a 3.903 cumulative GPA.

This season, Strelevitz led Southern to its third-straight NE10 Championship after winning six individual medals, including Championships in the 800 Freestyle Relay, 400 Medley Relay, 200 Medley Relay and 200 Backstroke Championships, while finishing with the Silver medal in the 400 Freestyle Relay and the Bronze in the 200 Freestyle.
