SCSU Women’s Soccer Tops Holy Family, 2-0, In Home Opener

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Southern Connecticut women's soccer won its home opener at Jess Dow Field, 2-0 against Holy Family. With the win, the Owls improve to 2-1-1 overall while Holy Family falls to 1-3-0 on the year. Southern is now 6-0-3 in its last nine games at Jess Dow Field. 



Kelsey Burr and Kylee Slavik scored for the Owls while Alexie Rosado assisted on Slavik's goal. Both Burr and Slavik found the back of the net for the second time this season and have now scored in back-to-back games. Rosado's second assist of the season now leads the Owls. 

In goal, Abby Aughe stopped both shots on goal from Holy Family and has now allowed a goal in the last 120:51 in goal. She improved to 2-1-1 on the year while also picking up her second assist of the season. 

Southern is back in action on Saturday, Sept. 16 when it hosts Saint Michael's for its Northeast-10 Conference opener at 1 p.m.at Jess Dow Field.
