NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Southern Connecticut State volleyball defeated Felician University, 3-1, in a non-conference matchup at Pelz Gym. The Owls improved to 10-7 overall on the season, while the Golden Falcons dropped to 3-11 overall.
Southern took the first set swiftly over Felician, 25-11. However, the Golden Falcons came back in the second set with a 25-20 win. The Owls fought back to take the third set, 25-16 and finished the match strong, to take the fourth set, 25-19 over Felician.
Senior
Sara Enright recorded her sixth double-double of the season with a team-best of 14 kills, 13 digs, two assists and two aces.
Carissa Michel had 11 kills, four digs and a block of her own, while
Kacey Deecher had nine kills, five digs and two aces in the victory against the Golden Falcons.
Sofia-Suarez Ramos had a season-best of seven kills, four digs and a solo block. Libero
Dylan Marney led the team with 16 digs, four assists, two service aces and a kill. Setter
Taylor Jones had a season-best of 31 assists and nine digs in the four-set battle against Felician.
Southern travels to Lakewood, New Jersey on Friday, September 29th for a 5:00 p.m. matchup against Georgian Court University. Then, the Owls open up conference play on Tuesday, October 3rd for a match at American International College in Springfield, Massachusetts at 6:00 pm.
