Southern Connecticut State University volleyball lost, 3-1, to the University of Bridgeport, in a competitive four-set match. In their second match of the day, the Owls beat the host Eagles, 3-0, to have an even 4-4 record on the season.

Sara Enright led the team in kills with 13 and four aces, while
Kacey Deecher wasn't far behind with 12 kills and 18 digs of her own. First-year Owl,
Kendall Webber shined with a career high of nine kills and four blocks against Bridgeport. The Owls would take the first set from the Purple Knights, 27-25.

Taylor Jones had 28 assists and four blocks throughout the match. Southern continued to fight hard in each set; however, Bridgeport never stopped their strong momentum. Libero
Dylan Marney had 20 digs and two aces against the Purple Knights.

Sara Enright had a team-best of digs and kills with nine.
Kacey Deecher was everywhere on the court for the Owls as she had five kills, five aces, two blocks and seven digs.

Carissa Michel served up a career-high of five aces to help the Owls win in three straight sets.

Southern returns to action on the road against Mercy University at 7:00 pm in Dobbs Ferry, NY. Volleyball is at back at Pelz on Friday, September 15th for a Tri-Match against Post University at 3:00 pm and against Assumption University at 7:00 pm.
