NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Southern Connecticut men's swimming and diving team defeated WPI 139 to 102. Lucas Quiroga and Elliott Speckhard highlight the meet coming in first place for two events each. Quiroga won the 500 Yard Freestyle and 1000 Yard Freestyle and Speckhard swept both diving events.  

3 Meter Diving 

Speckhard won the 3 Meter Event with a score of 233.03 while JT Tressel came in second with a score of 219.98.  

400 Yard Medley Relay 

The Southern Connecticut men's 400 Medley Relay "A" Team consisting of McAllistar Milne, Kobe Dominguez, Henry Velazquez, and Ben Frazer won the event with a time of 3:34.50. The "B" team of Austin Roney, Zachary Krantz, Jacob Tanner, and Samir Souidi finished fourth with a time of 3:47.68 

1000 Yard Freestyle 

Coming in first in the 1000 Free was Lucas Quiroga with a time of 10:19.64. Aiden Kennedy finished second with a time 10:23.34. James Custer finished in fourth place 10:36.25. 

200 Yard Freestyle 

Drew Ladner won the 200 Free with a time of 1:45.89. Velazquez finished with a time of 1:49.16 for fourth place.  

50 Yard Freestyle 

With a time of 22.15, Franklin Kuhn came in second in the 50 Free.  Jack Fry finished in third place with a time of 22.48.  

400 Yard Individual Medley 

The Owls earned the top three and a fifth-place spot in the 400 IM. Kris Janney finished first with a time of 4:22.36. Richie Hall finished second with a time of 4:24.40. Austin Roney finished with a time of 4:28.75 for third place. Krantz finished in fifth place with a time of 4:35.18.  

1 Meter Diving 

Speckhard also finished first in the 1 Meter event with a score of 243.00. Tressel followed with a score of 240.83.  

100 Yard Butterfly 

Ladner finished third in the 100 Fly swimming a 53.49. Velazquez finished with a time of 54.22 for fourth. Fry finished fifth with a time of 56.01.  

100 Yard Freestyle 

Milne was the top finisher for the Owls, coming in second with a time of 48.30 in the 100 Free. Kuhn followed behind Milne coming in third with a time of 48.59.  

100 Yard Backstroke 

In the 100 Back, Adam Fred won the event with a time of 53.80. Dominguez came in second with a time of 54.17.  

500 Yard Freestyle 

Quiroga finished the 500 Free with a time of 4:57.89 for first place. Souidi finished in third place with a time of 5:01.90. Roney finished with a time of 5:10.06 for fifth.  

100 Yard Breaststroke 

Southern Connecticut took the top two spots in the 100 Breast. Milne won the event with a time of 1:00.53. Frazer came in second with a time of 1:02.95.  

The Owls are back on Thursday, Dec. 5 for a meet against Yale.
