RINDGE, NH – The No. 6 Southern Connecticut men's soccer team was defeated by No. 3 seeded Franklin Pierce to knock them out of the Northeast-10 Conference Championship, 2-0. Franklin Pierce is also the reigning back-to-back NCAA DII National Champions.
Franklin Pierce controlled the ball for most of the first half, having eight shots and five corners while the Owls had none. The Ravens finally were able to score with only three minutes left in the half.
The second half told the same story with Franklin Pierce controlling the game, but Southern Connecticut had some chances with two shots and two corners. The Ravens had seven more shots but only two corners. Two Franklin Pierce players were able to connect in the 88th minute of the game to give them the win.
Tyler Fairchild had five saves in the effort.
The Owls finish their season with an overall record of 6-8-3.
