With an 82-73 win against Saint Anselm in the Northeast-10 Conference Championship Semifinals on Wednesday, Mar. 6 at James Moore Field House, the No. 6 Owls will now head to Manchester, N.H. to take on No. 5 Southern New Hampshire for the 2024 NE10 title. The Owls and Penmen are set to tip-off at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Mar. 9 at Stan Spirou Field House.
 
The Owls, currently riding a five-game win streak that includes tournament wins against American International, Bentley and Saint A's, enter the game at 22-9. Southern New Hampshire is 20-10 with six-straight wins including three in the conference tournament against Franklin Pierce, Pace and top-seed St. Michael's.

Tickets to Saturday's NE10 Championship Game will not be available to purchase online and will be sold on a first come, first serve basis. With tip-off set for a 1 p.m. start, tickets will be available when the doors open at 12 p.m.

The Owls Road To The Championship
 The Owls vs. The Penmen
  • Southern New Hampshire won both matchups with season – 87-71 on Jan. 13 in Manchester, N.H. and 82-70 in New Haven on Feb. 21.
  • Southern New Hampshire has won five-straight games against the Owls and six of the last seven meetings.
  • Southern's last win against the Penmen on the road came on Jan. 7, 2015.
  • Southern Connecticut and Southern New Hampshire have faced each other three times in the NE10 tournament, with all three games played at James Moore Field House.
  • The Owls hold a 2-1 record all-time against the Penmen in the tournament.
  • The last time SCSU and SNHU met in the NE10 Tournament was 2018, with the Owls taking a 76-74 decision on their home court.
  • Southern Connecticut and Southern New Hampshire have played one overtime game – a 107-101 SNHU win in 2016 – all-time in the NE10 tournament.
  • Southern also defeated SNHU in the 2014 NE10 Quarterfinals, 75-63, in New Haven.
History Of The Owls In the NE10 Championship Tournament
  • Southern Connecticut improved to 10-12 all-time in the NE10 Championship Tournament.
  • This is the Owls' second trip to the NE10 Championship Game. The last time the Owls played for the NE10 title, they defeated New Haven at James Moore Field House, 73-71, in 2014.
The Owls And The 2023-24 NE10 Championship Tournament
  • Marty Silvera enters the NE10 Championship averaging 24 points, 8.7 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 3.3 steals per game in three NE10 Tournament Games.
  • Silvera is shooting 54.2% (26-48) from the floor, 45.5% (5-11) from three-point range and 75% (15-20) from the free throw line.
  • Silvera, a 2024 NE10 Third Team and All-Defensive selection has led the Owls in scoring in two of their three tournament games.
  • Silvera had 23 points, eight assists and three steals against AIC.
  • He followed with a 21-point, nine-assist night against Bentley.
  • Against Saint Anselm in the NE10 Semi's, Silvera dropped a blistering 30 points with nine assists and nine rebounds, as well as three steals, while hitting 10-of-17 from the floor, 3-of-5 from three-point range and 7-of-11 from the free throw line.
  • Josh McGettigan is averaging 18.7 points and five rebounds in three games in this year's tournament.
  • McGettigan had 22 points and eight rebounds against AIC and then followed with a 20-point performance against Bentley. Against Saint Anselm he finished with 13 points.
  • Kazell Stewart enters the NE10 Title game averaging a double-double with 14.7 points and 10.3 rebounds as well as a block per game in conference tournament action.
  • Stewart is also shooting 68% (17-25) from the floor and has converted 10-of-14 from the free throw line.
  • Against AIC, Stewart had a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Against Bentley he had nine points and nine rebounds and then blitzed Saint Anselm with 21 points and 10 rebounds while hitting 8-of-12 from the field and 5-of-6 from the free throw line.
  • Cherif Diarra, the 2024 NE10 Defensive Player of the Year, enters the championship game with 11.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and three blocks per game in this year's tournament.
  • Diarra opened the tournament with 13 points and 11 rebounds against AIC.
  • Against Bentley, Diarra had 12 points and six boards as well as five blocks as the Owls defeated the Falcons on the road.
  • Against Saint Anselm, Diarra totaled nine points, five rebounds, three blocks and two steals.
  • Mason Williams averaged 8.7 points per game.
