SCSU Field Hockey Falls To No. 10 Saint Anselm

Southern Connecticut field hockey lost to nationally-ranked No. 19 Saint Anselm, 3-0, in a Northeast 10 Conference matchup at Jess Dow Field. With the loss, Southern dropped to 7-7 overall and 4-4 in the NE10 while Saint Anselm improved to 10-5 overall and 7-2 in the conference.

Rachel Miller put up a gutsy effort in goal for the Owls as she turned back 16 of Saint Anselm's 19 shots on goal. Miller had four saves in the first half and 12 in the second half including 10 in the final 15 minutes with the Hawks pressuring.

Southern had a pair of scoring opportunities off of the two corners that they had in the game but could not convert.

Southern is back in action when it travels to Rockville Center, N.Y. to take on Molloy on Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 3 p.m. The Owls will then trek to Manchester, N.H. to take on Southern New Hampshire on Saturday, Oct. 25 before hosting Pace and Franklin Pierce to close out the regular season. The Owls and Setters square off on Tuesday, Oct. 28 at 4 p.m. before Southern hosts Senior Day prior to the start of the regular season finale against Franklin Pierce on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 1 p.m. at Jess Dow Field.
