SCSU Men's Soccer Falls 2-1 at Adelphi

Box Score Garden City, N.Y.-- Southern Connecticut men's soccer dropped a 2-1 decision to Adelphi University in a Northeast 10 conference match up on Wednesday in Garden City, N.Y. With the loss, the Owls move to 6-3-4 overall and 3-1-3 in the NE10. With the win, the Panthers move to 7-3-2 overall and 4-2 in the NE10. 

The Panthers offense that struck first in the 26th minute. With the Owls down 1-0, the offense woke up as the first half began to wind down.

In the 39th minute, Jake Novoshelski went for a throw in just outside the 18 yard box. Off of the throw, it was Kasper Murzinski who found Solomon Aidoo just outside the box. Aidoo then fired a shot at the top of the goal just over the outstretched keeper, to tie the match at 1-1. 

Aidoo's goal was his second for the season, while Murzinkski picked up his first assist of the season. Diego Flores added two saves. 

Despite the late half momentum swing toward the Owls, it was the Panthers who would respond in the second half scoring in the 70th minute off a penalty kick to take the lead and the match 2-1.  

Southern Connecticut is back in on Saturday Oct. 25 at 2 PM when they travel to Manchester, N.H. to take on Saint Anselm College in a NE 10 conference match up. The Owls return home on Tuesday Oct. 28 at 7 PM for a non-conference match up against Dominican University.
