Molly Kennedy Named NE10 Swimmer of the Week for First Time This Season

Southern Connecticut Women's Swimming and Diving standout Molly Kennedy was named the Northeast 10 Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week as announced on Tuesday Nov. 18. This is Kennedy's first Swimmer of the Week award this season. 

Against WPI on Friday Nov. 14, Kennedy won both the 50 yard and 100 yard freestyle and placed second in the 100 yard butterfly. In the 50 yard and 100 yard freestyle, Kennedy secured the top times in the Northeast 10 so far this season. Kennedy finished the 50 yard free in 24.29, beating out Maria Janecka of the College of Staten Island by just .02 seconds. Her time in the 50 free has her in the top 75 of the entirety of DII.

Kennedy's finished the 100 yard freestyle in 52.81, beating out second place Amelia Myers of Felician by .73 seconds. Kennedy's 100 free time has her in the top 70 in DII. In the butterfly, Kennedy finished in 1:00.15, which is good for second in the conference beating out third place by .30 seconds, once again behind Janecka.
