MANSFIELD, Mass. – Southern Connecticut women's basketball standouts
Delaney Haines and
Katie Williamson were named to the Northeast-10 All-Conference Teams, as announced by the NE10 on Wednesday, March 5. Haines was named to the All Northeast-10 Conference First Team while Williamson was named to the All Northeast-10 Conference Second Team. This is the first All-NE10 Team recognition for Haines and it is the second-straight season that Williamson has been named to the All-NE10 Second Team.
Delaney Haines has had a breakout season for the Owls, as she leads the team in points with 478 and is second in the NE10 in scoring with an average of 17.1 points per game. She is second in the NE10 in three-point field goal percentage with 33% and is third in the conference in three-point field goals per game with an average of 2.6 per game. In a record-breaking 112-39 win against Bloomfield, Haines scored not only a career-high of 36 points, as it was the fourth-most points scored in program history and the most points scored by an individual this season in the NE10 by an individual. Additionally, she made a career-best of eight three-pointers, which is the second-most three pointers in the NE10 and made a career-best of 13 field goals. Haines was named the NE10 Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Week Four this season and was named to the NE10 Faces in the Crowd on Feb. 26, 2025.
Katie Williamson continues to have a great season for Southern Connecticut as she is ranked fifth in the NE10 in scoring with an average of 14.9 points per game. She is ranked third in the conference in free-throw percentage with 84% and is ranked fourth in blocks with a total of 29. Williamson etched her name into the SCSU Women's Basketball record book this season, starting on Dec. 22, 2024, when she scored her 1,000
th point in a fourth-quarter double-digit deficit comeback victory against Molloy. She is the 25
th player in SCSU Women's Basketball history to score 1,000 points. On Feb. 11, she recorded her 118th block which put her second-all-time in blocks in program history.
Katie Williamson is the first player in program history to score 1,000 points, have 100 blocks and have 100 steals in her career. Against American International, Williamson set a new career-high in points with 27, made a career-best of 11 field goals, made five free-throws, had three steals, three assists and two blocks in the win. She was named NE10 Women's Player of the Week for Week Nine and was named to the NE10 Faces in the Crowd on Jan. 8, 2025.
The Owls will return to action on Thursday, March 6 at 6:00 p.m. in Waltham, Massachusetts in the Northeast-10 Conference Championship Tournament Semifinals against no. 1 seed, Bentley University.
