SCSU Football Picked To Finish 5th In NE10 Football Coaches' Poll

Southern Connecticut State University was picked to finish fifth in the 2025 Northeast-10 Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, as announced by the NE10 on Monday, Aug. 11, 2025.

Southern enters the 2025 season under new leadership as Joe Loth takes the reigns of an Owls' squad that was 4-6 overall and 3-5 against conference opponents last season. The NE10's coaches chose Bentley as the favorite as the Falcons garnered 43 votes including four first-place votes. Saint Anselm was close behind with 40 with two first-place votes followed by Assumption and Franklin Pierce with 38 votes apiece, with Assumption claiming two first place votes. SCSU followed with 21 votes and preceded American International (19), Pace (15) and Post (10).

Last season saw the Owls win their final two games, 35-30 against Pace and 50-21 against AIC. The Owls will look to replace a pair of All-NE10 standouts in running back E'Lijah Gray and linebacker Joe DiGello and one of the conference's most prolific passers in Keith Ridley. Ridley led the NE10 in completion percentage last year and passing yards the previous season.

The Owls open the 2025 campaign on Sept. 13 at Post and play their first home contest against American Internationl on Sept. 20. The Owls slate also features trips to Catawba (N.C.) on Sept. 27 and NCAA Division I Delaware State on Oct. 11.
