SCSU Men's Soccer Ranked Fourth in NE10 Preseason Coaches' Poll

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Southern Connecticut State University was ranked fourth in the 2025 Northeast 10 Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, as announced by the conference on Wednesday, August 13th. 

The Owls will head into year 3 of Head Coach Kevin Anderson's tenure coming off a 6-8-3 2024 season, including a 4-4-1 record against conference opponents. They finished the regular season as the #6 seed in the NE10 playoffs before falling to three-seeded Franklin Pierce in the quarterfinals. The NE10's coaches picked Southern New Hampshire to repeat in this season's poll, with the Penmen receiving 81 votes and nine of ten first-place votes. Franklin Pierce received the remaining first-place vote and ranked second with 72 total, and Adelphi's 65 votes ranked third. Following Southern's 55 votes were Bentley (52), American International (35), Saint Michael's (35), Saint Anselm (25), Assumption (18), and Pace (12). 

The Owls return three All-NE10 players in Samuel Nagy (Second Team), Kasper Murzinski (Rookie Team), and Solomon Aidoo (Rookie Team). Nagy's, who was named captain for the 2025 season, is tied for the lead in goals scored among returning players with three, alongside fellow captain Jake Novoshelski. The Owls' other two captains, Edward Mensah and Tyler Doherty, will help to lead the Owls defense. 

Southern returns to action on September 4th at Felician, and will play their home opener on September 7th against Bridgeport.
