SCSU Men's Soccer Ties Bridgeport, 2-2, in Home Opener

NEW HAVEN, CONN.--The Southern Connecticut State University men's soccer team came to a draw against University of Bridgeport, 2-2, in its home opener. With the tie, the Owls stand at 0-1-1 in non-conference play. 

The Owls struck first in the 21st minute when graduate student Jeremy Martin scored. This was Martin's first goal of the season and first as a member of the Owls. 

As the first half was winding down, sophomore Solomon Aidoo added another goal in the 40th minute which was his first goal this season. 

Sophomore goalkeeper Diego Flores added six saves in his first start of the season. 

The Purple Knights scored their first goal at the 88th minute and added another with just under 30 seconds remaining to come to a 2-2 draw. 

Southern Connecticut is back in action Saturday Sept. 13 when they host West Chester University of Pennsylvania in a non-conference match-up at 4:00pm at Jess Dow Field.
