SCSU Field Hockey Defeats Saint Michael's, 2-1, For Third-Straight Win

Southern Connecticut State University field hockey defeated St. Michael's, 2-1, for the Owls' third-straight victory. With the win, the Owls improved to 3-3 overall and 1-0 in Northeast 10 Conference play.  

The Owls took an early lead when Taylor Leckey scored a goal from the middle of the circle, assisted by Lindsey Onofrio, at 10:43 into the game. Leckey's goal gives a team-leading four goals and a three-game point streak. For Onofrio, it was her third assist of the season.

The Owls' Isabella Fölster scored the game-winning goal in the final minute of play, capitalizing on a rebound from the goalkeeper. Fölster also owns a three-game point streak in which she's totaled three goals and three assists. Fölster and Leckey (4g, 1a) lead the team with nine points each.  

Southern returns to action on Monday, Sept. 22 when it hosts St. Thomas Aquinas for its final non-conference game at 3 p.m. at Jess Dow Field.
