SCSU Men's Swimming and Diving Falls to West Chester

WEST CHESTER, PA. -- In its first competition of the 2025-2026 season, Southern Connecticut men's swimming & diving fell to West Chester 186-53. 

200 Yard Medley Relay:
Southern Connecticut relay team of Vincent Roney, Jack Simmons, Jacob Tanner and Aiden Kennedy finished fourth with a time of 1:43.36. A Southern Connecticut team of Mason Durant, Travis Scott, Lucas Quiroga and Alexander Ahrens also finished 5th with a time of 1:45.00.

1000 Yard Freestyle:
Owls senior Dylan Prescher placed third with a time of 10:16.92.

200 Yard Freestyle:
Owls Ben Frazer placed fourth with a time of 1:48.74 and right behind him was Richie Hall in fifth at 1:50.08.

50 Yard Freestyle:
Jack Fry led the way, placing fourth at 22.29. Following him was Daniel Lazar 5th at 22.75.

200 Yard IM:
Kris Janney took home fourth for the Owls at 2:05.49. Following him was Sean Bailey in 5th at 2:11.76.

100 Yard Butterfly:
Mason Durant picked up fourth for the Owls at 55.17. Following him were Zach Krantz 5th at 56.60.

Men 100 Yard Freestyle:
Jack Fry finished 4th with a time of 48.96 and Ben Frazer finished fifth with a time 49.01.

Men 100 Yard Backstroke:
Vincent Roney placed fourth for the Owls with a time of 57.90. Sean Bailey was right behind him in 5th at 58.30.  

Men 500 Yard Freestyle:
Samir Souidi took 4th for the Owls with a time of 4:57.07. Aiden Kennedy placed fifth at 5:09.18.

Men's 100 Yard Breaststroke:
Nick Fournier finished fourth with a time of 1:04.68 and Jack Simmons finished fifth with a time of 1:05.69.

Men 400 Yard Freestyle Relay:
A Southern Connecticut relay team consisting of Ben Frazer, Sean Bailey, Jack Fry and Daniel Lazar took home first place with a time of 3:18.70. Also, Southern Connecticut took second with a team consisting of Dylan Prescher, Samir Souidi, Sam Whitaker and Mason Durant with a time of 3:24.91.

1 Meter Diving:
Elliot Speckhard placed second with a score of 246.23.

3 Meter Diving: 
Elliot Speckhard placed second with a score of 204.23. 

Southern is back in action on Friday Oct 3 at 6:00pm and Saturday Oct 4 at noon when they to Fairfield to compete in the Fairfield Invitational.
