SCSU Field Hockey Falls To Assumption

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Southern Connecticut field hockey lost to Assumption, 8-0, in a Northeast 10 Conference matchup at Jess Dow Field. With the loss, the Owls dropped to 4-4 overall and 1-1 in the NE10 while Assumption improved to 3-5 overall and 2-1 in conference play.

Lyndsay Troisi saw 22 shots in goal and had an incredible 17 saves in the loss. Troisi's 17 saves were a career best and her most in a single game since she stopped 15 against Southern New Hampshire last season. For the year, she is 1-1 with a .730 save percentage and a 2.88 goals-against average.

Southern is back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 30 when it travels to Springfield, Mass. to face American International at 7 p.m.
