SCSU Field Hockey Defeats AIC, 3-1

Southern Connecticut field hockey defeated American International, 3-1, in a Northeast 10 Conference matchup in Springfield, Mass. With the win, the Owls improved to 5-4 overall and 2-1 in the NE10 while AIC dropped to 2-8 overall and 1-3 in conference play.

Leading scorer Taylor Leckey stayed hot with a goal and an assist in the Owls win while Isabella Fölster and Lindsey Onofrio also scored for the Owls. Leckey sits at nine goals and four assists for 22 points in nine games. Fölster now has five goals on the season while Onofrio has found the back of the cage three times to date.

Lyndsay Troisi improved to 2-1 on the season after stopping two of the Yellowjackets' three shots on goal.

Southern is back in action when it travels to Waltham, Mass. to take on Bentley on Friday, Oct. 3 at 4 p.m. The Owls return home to host Adelphi on Wednesday, Oct. 8 at 5 p.m. at Jess Dow Field.
