SCSU Women's Swimming and Diving Picked First in NE10 Pre-championship Poll

Southern Connecticut State University Women's Swimming and Diving was picked first in the 2025-26 Northeast 10 Conference Pre-Championship Poll, as announced by the NE10 on Tuesday Feb. 10, 2025.

Southern Connecticut received five first place votes. The Owls were placed above Felician, Bentley, Bridgeport, Adelphi, The College of Staten Island, Saint Michael's and Assumption to round out the 10-team conference.

Last season, Southern Connecticut won the conference championship, beating runner up Bentley University 1081-719. The Owls captured 33 total medals, which included 13 championships. This was the Owls fourth straight NE10 Championship.

The Owls return three gold medal winners from individual events last year. Julia Pitchell won the 200 yard butterfly last year and Paola Castillo won the 1650 yard freestyle. The Owls also return last years outstanding swimmer of the meet Molly Kennedy as she captured seven gold medals and four record performances. Along with the gold medal winners, Jasmine Uricchio, Emma St. Hilaire and Sierra DuCharme return after winning silver medals. Uricchio medaled in the 500-yard freestyle and 200-yard butterfly, St. Hilaire in the 200-yard breaststroke and DuCharme in the 1650 yard freestyle.

The Owls begin their quest for a fifth straight conference championship starting on Thursday Feb. 12 and continuing through Sunday Feb. 15 in Worcester, Mass.
