BOSTON, Mass. - Southern Connecticut men's track & field sit in first place through the first day of the 2025-26 Northeast-10 Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships at the TRACK at New Balance in Boston, Mass. The Owls combined to win four individual championships and nine medals overall and totaled 79 points.
The Owls took a commanding lead after the first day and sit ahead of Assumption's 32 points in second place. Colton Sallum won the 5000 Meter Run Championship, the DMR of Nathanael Huebner, Oakley Garrison, Francis Porrini and Jonathan Volpe also won while Peyton Adams won the Pole Vault event. Aidan Chittendon captured the Weight Throw Championship.
5000 Meter Run
Colton Sallum won the 5000 Meter Run Championship with a time of 15:04.44 while John Glidden was third for the Bronze Medal at 15:11.83. William Lamburn finished fourth at 15:13.18.
Distance Medley Relay
Huebner, Garrison, Porrini and Volpe took the Distance Medley Relay Championship with a time of 10:28.05, nearly five seconds faster than second-place Adelphi. For Volpe, it was the eighth NE10 Championship that he has won in his career that began in 2021.
Pole Vault
Southern took three medals and the top four spots in the Pole Vault, let by Peyton Adams' mark of 4.40 (14' 5 ¼"), which was a career best. Adams previously won the Silver Medal in the event in 2024. Sean Horrigan won the Silver Medal in second place at a height of 4.25m (13' 11 ¼") followed by Nathan Fauteux at the same height. Cole Wilson was fourth at 3.95m (12' 11 ½").
Weight Throw
Chittenden had a mark of 17.06m (55' 11 ¾") to capture the Weight Throw championship.
