Abby Royer, Gabriela Dinisoe Earn All-GEC Honors

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Southern Connecticut State University gymnastics standouts Abby Royer and Gabriela DInisoe were honored with All-Gymnastics East Conference recognition, as announced by the GEC on Thursday, March 19, 2026. Royer was named to the Floor Exercise First Team while Dinisoe was named to the Balance Beam Second Team.

All-GEC honors are determined by the student-athletes National Qualifying Scores (NQS) in their respective events. The top 12 student-athletes in each event earn All-GEC recognition, with the top six named to the First Team and student-athletes ranked sixth through 12th, including ties, earn Second Team honors.

Royer led all GEC gymnastics with a 9.895 NQS in the Floor Exercise. The senior's NQS is also the highest in any event in the GEC this season. Royer's routines of note came in her first two competitions of the season when she posted a program-record 9.95 on Jan. 17 and followed with a matching score the following week – securing a 10.0 from the same judge in back-to-back meets. This was the second-straight season in which Royer led Southern in the Floor Exercise while earning her second All-GEC honor. Royer previously earned Second Team honors in 2022-23. In addition, she was recently named a GEC Scholar-Athlete, for the fourth time in her career.

Dinisoe led the Owls on the Balance Beam with a NQS of 9.745, which ranked 11th in the GEC. Dinisoe finished the year with the second-highest score of the year on the Beam (9.800) and also posted a 9.700-or-higher in seven of the Owls' 10 meets this season. Last season, Dinisoe was a WCGNIC First Team All-American on the Beam after a third-place finish at the 2026 WCGNIC Championships. She also previously qualified for the 2024 USAG National Championships in the Beam as well as Bars.
