Southern Connecticut gymnastics will travel to the 2026 Women's Collegiate Gymnastics National Invitational Championships on Friday, March 27 through Sunday, March 29 hosted by West Chester University at Hollinger Field House in West Chester, Pa. The Owls will compete in Session II which starts at 7 p.m. Team Finals will be on Saturday, March 28 at 7 p.m. while Event Finals will be held on Sunday, March 29 at 1 p.m. Live video and live scoring will be available on Virtius.Â

Notes: Southern is coming off a seventh-place finish as this past weekend's GEC Championships. Abby Royer captured the Floor Exercise title with a 9.925 for first place. Royer became the second Owl to win a GEC Championship after Angel Lee won the 2023 GEC Balance Beam Championship. Royer, also named a GEC Floor First Team selection and also a GEC Scholar-Athlete, entered the competition with the highest National Qualifying Score (NQS) of any GEC athlete with a 9.895 in the Floor Event. Royer averaged a 9.891 average and a high score of 9.95, which she hit twice and is a program record … Lola Sepulveda led the Owls with a 9.675 on the Vault which tied for fourth in the first session … Gabriela Dinisoe led the Owls on the Bars with a season-best 9.725 for a tie of fifth in Session … Angelina Stanfa had a team-leading and season-best 9.725 for third place in Session I on the Beam while Dinisoe followed with a 9.675 for a tie for seventh place … In addition to Royer's first-place finish in the Floor Exercise, Ava Kelly finished tied for third after she posted a 9.800 followed by Sepulveda at 9.775 in fifth place … At last season's WCGNIC Championships,  Libby Allen, Erica Beyer, and  Dinisoe were all named Women's Collegiate Gymnastics National Invitational Championships First Team All-Americans while Royer and Hanna Zebdi were named Second Team All-Americans. Allen, Beyer, and Royer earned their honors on the floor exercise, and Dinisoe and Zebdi earned theirs on the balance beam … Allen was named a First Team All-American on the floor after scoring a 9.850 to win her session of the WCGNIC Semifinals day and tied for second overall across the two sessions … Beyer scored a 9.800 on the floor which was a four-way tie for second and was then named a First Team All-American … Dinisoe was named an All-American First Team member after tying for fourth and scoring a 9.775 on the balance beam. She finished third overall on the beam scoring a 9.8125 … Royer was named a Second Team All-American after finishing sixth with a 9.775 … Zebdi tied for sixth on the beam with a score of 9.750, which beat her previous personal best from 2022, to earn herself Second Team All-American honors.Â
