MANSFIELD, Mass. -- Southern Connecticut State University freshman midfielder Isabella Sharp-Senior has been named the Northeast 10 Conference Field Hockey Rookie of the Week, as announced by the NE10 office on Monday, Sept. 14, 2026.
Sharp-Senior led the Owls to a 2-0 week at Jess Dow Field with wins over Mercy (5-1) and Molloy (6-1) to even SCSU at 2-2 on the year. The freshman played a key role in Wednesday's 5-1 home-opening win over Mercy. She assisted on Bridget Andros' goal in the 38th minute that made it 4-1, and then closed the scoring herself with less than a minute remaining to give the Owls the 5-1 final.
For the week, Sharp-Senior totaled 1 goal and 1 assist for 3 points in the two games, with both points coming against Mercy. She entered the week already with a goal on the season from the opening weekend at Kutztown. Southern Connecticut is back in action this week when it travels to Sparkill, N.Y. to take on St. Thomas Aquinas on Tuesday, Sept. 15 and then head to Manchester, N.H. to face Southern New Hampshire on Saturday, Sept. 19.
