PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. — Southern Connecticut State University men's soccer played Pace University to a 1-1 draw on Wednesday evening at Northwell Stadium. With the result, the Owls move to 0-2-4 overall, while the Setters move to 4-1-3 overall.
Pace opened the scoring in the 30th minute when Eric Garcia found the back of the net to give the Setters a 1-0 lead.
The Owls answered just before halftime when Jeremy Martin scored his second goal of the season in the 45th minute. Giancarlo Ciotoli recorded the assist, as Martin finished the opportunity to level the match at 1-1 heading into halftime.
SCSU controlled the attack in the second half, outshooting Pace 8-1 and earning five corner kicks with Jimmy Choi and Martin each put shots on goal.
The Owls also took advantage of a Pace red card in the 64th minute, but SCSU was later reduced to 10 players following a red card to Izan Vila in the 79th minute. Neither team was able to break through in the final minutes, as the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

SCSU finished with a 12-5 advantage in shots and a 7-1 edge in corner kicks. Diego Flores played all 90 minutes in goal for the Owls.
The Owls return to action on Saturday, Sept. 26 at 5:00 p.m. when they host Saint Anselm College at Jess Dow Field.
