As a Junior in 2009:
Played in 43 games for the Owls, including 38 starts…Tied with two others for sixth in the Northeast-10 Conference in sacrifice bunts (nine)…Ranked second on the team in assists (113), third in sacrifice bunts and tied for third in stolen bases (nine)…Hit .189 (23-for-122) with four RBI, 16 runs scored, two doubles and 15 walks…Slugged .205 and recorded a .293 on-base percentage…Went 2-for-3 in his first game of the season during the first game of a doubleheader against No. 18 Georgia College and State on 2/14…Followed up by another 2-for-3 performance with a RBI and a run scored versus No. 18 Georgia College and State on 2/15…Recorded a single, a RBI, a run scored and a walk against Dominican on 2/28…Notched a RBI and walked once versus C.W. Post on 3/16…Went 3-for-4 with a double, a RBI, a run scored and stole a base in the second game of a doubleheader against New Haven on 4/4…Followed up with two singles and a run scored in the first game of a doubleheader versus Franklin Pierce…Hit a double and scored a run in the second game of the doubleheader on 4/5.

As a Sophomore in 2008:
Played in 36 games for the Owls, including 27 starts…Hit .226 (19-for-84) with 10 RBI, five doubles, 14 walks, 17 runs scored and one sacrifice fly…Slugged .286 and recorded a .383 on-base percentage…Went 2-for-4 and scored once in the first game of a doubleheader versus Assumption on 3/2…In the second game of the doubleheader, he went 2-for-4 with an RBI, two runs scored and one hit by pitch…Hit a double and drove in two runs at Lynn on 3/19…Collected two hits in four at-bats, drove in three runs, scored twice and was hit by a pitch in the first game of a doubleheader at Saint Rose on 4/19…Stole two bases and scored once in the second game of the doubleheader…Hit two singles and was hit by a
pitch at Saint Anselm on 4/26. 

As a Freshman in 2007: (at Salisbury University)
Played in three games as a reserve for the Sea Gulls…Hit .333 (2-for-6) with two RBI and three runs scored…Tallied his first career hit and scored a run against Amherst on 3/18…Went 1-for-2 with two RBI and a run scored against Gallaudet on 3/24. 

Before College:
All-Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference (FCIAC)selection at Westhill (Conn.) High School…Selected to Connecticut High School Coaches Association (CHSCA) All-Star Game…Named team Most Valuable Player…Team captain as a senior.

Son of Sachie and Scott Malen…Has a sister, Sabrina…A marketing and finance major.
