As a Freshman in 2008 (at UConn):
Appeared in four games for the Huskies...Led the team with a 1.98 earned run average...Struck out 12 in 13.2 innings pitched...Made his collegiate debut against Michigan State and didn’t allow a run in two innings of work...Struck out a season-high five in four scoreless innings of relief against Ohio State...Allowed only one earned run and fanned four in 4.2 innings of relief against Georgetown.
